I was born into a Christian family and raised knowing Jesus. I gave my life to Christ and was baptized at 11 years old. Throughout my childhood and early teen years, I stayed active in church, participated in mission trips, and loved serving God. But at 16, I began drifting away from the Lord. I fell into rebellion, unhealthy relationships, sexual sin, drinking, and even selling drugs. Deep inside, I was hurting and searching for freedom in the wrong places.

At 18, I married a man I believed loved me, but the marriage became filled with emotional pain, pornography, and betrayal. After discovering unfaithfulness and hidden struggles within the marriage, I became broken and depressed. Following our divorce, I searched for comfort in worldly relationships, but none of it healed the emptiness in my heart.

Then God began restoring my life. I reconnected with someone who became my best friend and eventually my husband. We faced many hardships together, including the loss of a baby, years of struggles in marriage, my nervous breakdown and misdiagnosis, and serious health battles that left my husband temporarily unable to walk. Yet through every storm, God’s hand never left us.

My husband faithfully prayed for me to return fully to the Lord, and in time, God drew me back. We began attending church faithfully, studying Scripture deeply together, and growing stronger in faith. I began teaching young adults in church, and later became an instructor for children as well, sharing God’s love with the next generation. Due to a serious fall earlier this year, I am currently unable to continue teaching the children’s classes, but I still trust that God has a purpose for every season of my life.

The Lord also placed a desire in my heart to be baptized again as a public recommitment to Him. Despite many obstacles surrounding that day, I went forward in faith. When I came out of that icy water, I felt spiritually renewed and completely set free.

Looking back, I now see that Jesus was protecting me even in my darkest moments. Though I fell many times, God never abandoned me. He restored me with mercy, grace, and love.

I also overcame years of hidden pain from childhood sexual abuse and many sinful choices that once controlled my life. Today, I boldly confess that Jesus Christ saved me, renewed me, and continues to lead my life. I have learned that faith is more than occasional prayer — it is a deep, personal relationship with the Lord.

My husband and I are now best friends, growing together in Christ daily. To anyone reading this: God sees your pain, knows your heart, and can restore what feels broken. No one is too far gone for the mercy of Jesus.

May the Lord bless you on your journey of faith. — Jennifer
